Stedet Tæller X Realdania
A stable ruin will be transformed into a volunteer-run meeting space that provides a venue for the local community and tourists and that offers a special architectural experience in Langeland, combining old and new. As part of Realdania and Ny Carlsberg’s Stedet Tæller X project, an open ideas competition was hosted to develop a design that celebrated and respected the past - by preserving the ruin as well as making room for future experiences. The project is rooted in the local community, drawing on their ideas, hopes and dreams for the space.
In May 2024, Folk Arkitekter won the design competition with their concept ‘Lindelse X Møllestue’. It celebrates the character of the ruin, respects the surroundings and builds on the story of the mill by creating a dynamic space for people to come together and enjoy the big and small moments of Langeland.
The møllelaug is currently trying to raise 4.8 million kr., with 4.8 million kr. already committed by Realdania. Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest.
